EXTENTION PARACAS / BALLESTAS ISLANDS / NASCA
Two hours away from Ica city, 50 km. of dessert has been covered (many centuries ago) for gigantic designs in which they represent mammals, insects and gods. Las Lineas de Nasca or (the nasca's lines) that has been the name since they discovered in 1927, declared World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1994. They are the most incredible trace left by a culture, that it mends to three centuries before Christ: the result of these drawings and of its complex lines (some of them reach 300 m. of length) they can be seen alone to 1500 feet of altitude. Is it clear that the Nasca have not known the air displacements; is it for this by which is interrogated as they could have done these designs? What technology could they have used? Which is the end of these designs? Las Lineas de Nasca (the nasca's line) are part of a mystery from people and the town up to today, the sight of these lines from the plane is simply incredible.
In this tour, we will also visit Paracas where the dessert and the ocean find themselves in a marvelous way. Millions of birds find refuge and other thousands come from the North and from the South. We find, between others, the guaneras birds and Humboldt penguins, marine wolves, dolphins, etc. Boats depart from the port towards the Islas Ballestas (Ballestas Island) where is possible to be almost in direct close contact with these species.
Finally, we cannot go without visiting the National Reserve of Paracas. This place offers spectacular sceneries, a small bay that is a natural habitat of the parihuanas, bird of red and white color (that has served as inspiration in the creation of the Peruvian flag).
Towards the South, the beaches present rocky formations of a rare beauty as ' The Cathedral ' and ' Mendieta '. In Paracas, the sunset is so beautiful that seems to be in accordance with the scenery to color the ocean and bring the travelers a nostalgic farewell.
