The Inca South is a tour. Prepared to show you, the wealth and diversity of a unique country in the world. Beginning with the Peruvian coast surrounded for the Pacific Ocean, we will visit Lima, capital of Peru. Lima was called by the Spaniards in the colonial times “The City of the Gardens” because has kept the arquitecture of the epoch. In Lima, we will visit the most important museums of the country. Continuing with our tour, we will go to Arequipa, called “The White City” for the color of the volcanic stone “Sillar”. Arequipa is located south of Peru in the volcanic mountain range to 2300m of altitude with three volcanoes next to it: The Misti, The Chachani and Pichu Pichu. Arequipa's gastronomy is one of the best in the country and people are able to taste them in what was call “Picanterias”. One of the most important places of Arequipa is the “Convento de Santa Catalina” (Saint Catalina Convent) where one of the daughters of the aristocratic families of the epoch had to dedicate her life to God. She also recreated in the alleys, the ambience of the region brought memories to her of the place where she came from. It is for this reason that we find places that will make us think and remember place of Spain like Seville, Granada and Castilla. As we continue with the tour, our next visit will be the City of Puno, placed to 3825m of altitude, the so-called Folkloric Capital of Peru. The scenery of Te Altiplano (The Plateau) is an immense flat area of more than 100,000 km2 to the south of Peru, the majority of the inhabitants are of Aymara origin, whom are employed mainly doing agriculture work and are also dedicated to the breeding of Alpacas. We will have the opportunity to navigate in the highest lake of the world called “Titicaca” (Panther Stone) that measures approximately 194 x 65 km. We will visit the islands of the Uros, Amantan and Taquile.
Finally, we will arrive to the Capital of the Empire Inca “Cusco”, in which this city has been renowned World Patrimony of the Humanity by the UNESCO; Qosqo (in Quechua) means “bellybutton” of the world. This characterizes this magnificent city that no one is feel indifferent, Cusco arquitecture is very typical colonial style, the Inca has kept the stones and foundations so well worked that are so close to be perfect. This mix of completely different styles makes Cusco the only one in the world.
We will also visit the beautiful Valle Sagrado de los Incas (Sacred Valley of the Incas), this valley was most appreciated by the ancient people of Peru, because of the very productive land and because they were able to harvest the best grain of corn and have a great climate in that territory. You will also get to see the most important places and beautiful arqueological monuments of Valle Sagrado (Sacred Valley). One of the most impressive places of the world is Machu Picchu (Old Mountains in Quechua) to 2400m of altitude, world cultural heritage of the UNESCO, is the most important arqueological site of South America. Besides the enigmatic constructions made by the Incas, the most incredible thing about this place is the magic of being there. Built on top of a rocky mountain with difficult access to it, Machu Picchu surrounded with other covered mountains of semi-tropical vegetation. The Incas have left inexplicably this citadel and it has never been discovered by the Spaniards because it has being hidden in the vegetation.
